How to Withdraw Crypto from an Online Casino

Crypto withdrawals are usually the fastest way to get money out of an offshore casino. Once a request is approved, the coins typically reach your wallet in minutes, not days. The delays happen before that point: the casino’s pending period, KYC review and any bonus or wagering checks. After the coins arrive, converting them to A$ through an Australian exchange takes another step, and possibly a fee.

For background on wallets and networks, see our crypto wallets guide. For how crypto compares with other payout methods, read fast withdrawals.

Before You Start

  • Have a receiving address on the right network. Use an address from an exchange account in your name or a self-custody wallet. For USDT, choose the same network the casino will send on (TRC-20 or ERC-20).
  • Check the casino’s minimum and fee. Crypto withdrawal minimums are often equivalent to A$20 to A$50. Some casinos deduct a network fee; others pay it.
  • Complete verification. Even crypto-first casinos usually require KYC before larger withdrawals. See how to verify your account.
  • Clear or forfeit any bonus. An active bonus usually blocks withdrawal.

Step-by-Step: Withdrawing Crypto

  1. Get your receiving address. In your exchange, open the coin, choose Deposit or Receive, pick the network, and copy the address. For XRP and some other coins, also copy the destination tag or memo.
  2. Open the casino Cashier, then Withdraw, then choose the coin. If the casino shows several networks, select the one that matches your receiving address.
  3. Paste the address and tag. Compare the first and last four characters with the original. Many casinos let you save a whitelisted address after the first withdrawal.
  4. Enter the amount. If your balance is in A$ or USD, the casino converts at its rate at the time of processing. Note the estimated coin amount shown.
  5. Confirm via 2FA or email.
  6. Wait for approval. Pending periods vary from instant to 72 hours. Status changes to Approved, then Sent, at which point a transaction ID (TXID) is usually shown.
  7. Track the TXID on a block explorer. Once it has enough confirmations, your exchange credits it, usually within 5 to 30 minutes for BTC and faster for TRC-20 USDT or LTC.
  8. Convert to A$ if you want cash. Sell on the exchange and withdraw to your bank, often via PayID or bank transfer. Exchange spreads and fees vary; compare before selling large amounts.

Tax Note for Australians

The ATO generally does not tax recreational gambling winnings, but crypto is a separate matter. If you hold coins after withdrawing and later sell them for more or less than their value when received, that disposal can have capital gains tax consequences. Keep records of the date, coin amount and A$ value of every casino withdrawal. See our gambling tax guide and check ato.gov.au for your situation.

Common Problems and Fixes

Withdrawal approved but the coins have not arrived

Ask support for the TXID and check it on a block explorer. If it shows as confirmed to your address, contact your exchange with the TXID. If no TXID exists, the casino has not actually sent it, so ask for the expected send time.

The exchange does not show the deposit

Common causes: a missing memo or tag, a network your exchange does not support for that coin, or the exchange’s own deposit review. Provide the TXID to the exchange’s support. Coins sent on an unsupported network may be recoverable by the exchange for a fee, or not at all.

Withdrawal stuck in “Pending”

Check for document requests by email. Some casinos process crypto in batches a few times a day. If it is still pending after the stated processing time, contact support and ask what is outstanding. Our contact support guide suggests the wording.

The casino will only pay crypto back to crypto

Many casinos follow a closed-loop rule: withdrawals go back to the method used for deposits. If you deposited by card or bank and want crypto, ask support before requesting.

Received fewer coins than expected

Check the network fee and the conversion rate on the withdrawal record. If the difference exceeds the published fee, ask support for the calculation.

Large win paid in instalments

Monthly limits apply to crypto too. Our withdrawal limits guide explains how instalment schedules work and what to ask for in writing.

For depositing, see how to deposit with crypto. Casinos that pay out in USDT are listed in our USDT casinos comparison. Bank cash-outs are covered in how to withdraw to a bank, and all guides are in the how-to section.

Frequently Asked Questions

After the casino approves the request, coins typically arrive within minutes to an hour depending on the network. The casino’s pending period and KYC checks are usually the slower part.

Coins with low network fees, such as USDT on TRC-20 or Litecoin, lose the least to fees on small withdrawals. Check which your exchange supports.

Many casinos allow it if both coins are supported, but some require withdrawals to the deposit method. Ask support before requesting.

You need a wallet address. To turn coins into A$, you also need an exchange that can pay to your Australian bank account.

If the address is valid but not yours, the coins cannot be recovered. If it is invalid, the casino’s system usually rejects it. Contact support immediately in either case.
