How to Deposit at a Casino with Crypto

A crypto deposit typically reaches a casino balance in 1 to 60 minutes, depending on the network. Unlike a card payment, there is no chargeback: if you send coins on the wrong network, forget a destination tag or send less than the casino’s minimum, the funds may be lost or only returned after a slow manual process. This guide gives you a repeatable routine for depositing Bitcoin, USDT, Ethereum and other coins at an online casino.

If you have never held crypto, start with our overview of crypto wallets, and see crypto casinos explained for the pros and cons compared with PayID or cards.

What You Need Before You Start

  • An account at an Australian crypto exchange registered with AUSTRAC, or a self-custody wallet that already holds coins.
  • A verified casino account with the currency set the way you want (some casinos keep crypto balances in the coin itself, others convert to A$ or USD on arrival).
  • Five minutes and no distractions. Most crypto mistakes happen when copying addresses in a hurry.

Choosing the Right Coin and Network

The same coin can travel on several blockchains. USDT, for example, exists on Tron (TRC-20), Ethereum (ERC-20) and other networks. The casino’s deposit page tells you which networks it supports, and the network you send on must match exactly.

Coin / networkTypical confirmation timeNetwork fee (typical)Watch out for
Bitcoin (BTC)10 to 60 minutes (1 to 3 confirmations)Varies with congestion, often a few dollarsSlow when the network is busy
USDT on Tron (TRC-20)1 to 5 minutesLow; some exchanges charge a flat withdrawal feeDo not send to an ERC-20 address
USDT / ETH on Ethereum (ERC-20)1 to 5 minutesCan be several dollars or more at busy timesHighest fees of the common options
Litecoin (LTC)5 to 15 minutesVery lowFewer casinos list it than BTC
XRPSecondsVery lowDestination tag (memo) is mandatory at most casinos

For deposits under A$200, USDT on Tron or Litecoin usually costs the least and confirms fastest. Bitcoin is the most widely accepted but the slowest and most variable. Our pages on Bitcoin, Tether (USDT) and Ripple (XRP) go deeper on each.

Step-by-Step: Making a Crypto Deposit

Labelled casino crypto deposit screen showing the coin selector, network selector (USDT on TRC-20), deposit address with copy button and QR code, and destination tag or memo field
  1. Log in to the casino and open Cashier, then Deposit. Choose the coin you want to use.
  2. Select the network. If the casino shows a choice (for example USDT TRC-20 or ERC-20), pick the one your exchange or wallet supports and note it down.
  3. Read the minimum deposit. Crypto minimums are often the equivalent of A$15 to A$30, and a deposit below the minimum may not be credited at all. Remember the network fee is deducted before the coins arrive.
  4. Copy the deposit address with the copy button. Do not retype it. If there is a QR code, you can scan it with your wallet app instead.
  5. Copy the destination tag or memo if one is shown. XRP and some other coins use a tag to identify your account at the casino. Without it, the coins reach the casino’s wallet but not your balance.
  6. Open your exchange or wallet and choose Withdraw or Send. Select the same coin and the same network as in step 2.
  7. Paste the address and check it. Compare the first four and last four characters with the casino page. Clipboard-hijacking malware can swap addresses, so this check matters.
  8. Enter the amount, review the fee and confirm. Most exchanges then ask for a 2FA code or email confirmation.
  9. Wait for confirmations and check your balance. The transaction appears on the blockchain within seconds, but the casino credits it only after its required number of confirmations. Keep the transaction ID (TXID) from your exchange until the funds show.

Tips That Save Money

  • Test with a small amount first when using a new casino or network. One extra network fee is cheap insurance.
  • Deposit addresses can change. Some casinos generate a new address for each deposit. Always copy a fresh one from the cashier instead of reusing an old address from your history.
  • Watch the conversion. If the casino converts crypto to A$ or USD on arrival, check the rate it uses. Our guide to deposit fees explains where hidden costs come from.
  • Bonuses may need a code or opt-in before you send. Activate the offer first; it cannot usually be added after the coins arrive. Our crypto bonuses guide covers the usual conditions.

Common Problems and Fixes

The deposit has not arrived after an hour

Look up your TXID on a block explorer for that network. If it shows fewer confirmations than the casino needs, simply wait; Bitcoin can take longer at busy times. If it is fully confirmed and still not credited after 30 minutes, contact support with the TXID, coin, network, amount and time sent.

You sent on the wrong network

Contact support immediately with the TXID. Some casinos can recover coins sent on a compatible network (for example an ERC-20 token sent to an address that also exists on another EVM chain), often for a fee; others cannot. Coins sent to a network the casino does not support are frequently unrecoverable. This is why step 2 matters.

You forgot the destination tag or memo

Send support the TXID and a screenshot of the transaction. The casino can usually match the payment manually, but it may take several business days.

You sent less than the minimum

Many casinos do not credit sub-minimum deposits automatically. Some will add the amount once a later deposit takes the total above the minimum; ask support how they handle it before sending more.

The exchange blocked the transfer

Some Australian banks and exchanges flag transfers to gambling-related addresses. Check your exchange messages; you may need to confirm the transfer is yours. Never let anyone else access your exchange account to “help” with a deposit.

Frequently Asked Questions

USDT on the Tron network and Litecoin usually have the lowest network fees and fast confirmations. Exchange withdrawal fees vary, so compare them before choosing.

Not through the network. Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed, so any refund depends entirely on the casino agreeing to send the coins back.

Many casinos allow crypto deposits before full KYC, but most still require verification before larger withdrawals. Australian exchanges also verify you when you open an account.

It depends on the casino. Some keep a separate BTC or USDT wallet whose A$ value moves with the market, while others convert to fiat on arrival.

It varies by casino and coin. Bitcoin commonly needs one to three confirmations; faster networks may need more confirmations but still finish within minutes.
