How Floating Dragon Works

Wins pay left to right on 10 fixed lines from the leftmost reel. In multiples of the total bet, five dragon boat kites pay 200x, four pay 20x, three 5x and two 0.5x. Five peacock kites pay 100x, five butterfly or mask kites 50x, and five fish 20x. All five card symbols (A, K, Q, J and 10) pay the same: 10x for five, 2.5x for four and 0.5x for three.

Floating Dragon paytable with wild and scatter symbols

The fish symbol pays on lines and also carries a money value on every spin: 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, 5x or 500x the total bet. These values are paid only when collected by wilds during free spins. The dragon is the scatter and appears on all reels. The wild, a woman in red, appears only in free spins.

Hold & Spin Bonus

Gold coin money symbols appear only on the middle reel in the base game, each with a value of 1x to 20x the total bet (1x to 12x, 14x, 16x, 18x or 20x). When all 3 positions of the middle reel show a coin, the Hold & Spin bonus starts. The middle reel stays in place, the other symbols disappear, and the coin values are added to the round total.

Floating Dragon Hold and Spin bonus awarded screen

The round starts with 3 respins. Every new money symbol resets the counter to 3 and its value is added to the total. On reels 1, 2, 4 and 5 a diamond can also land, worth 100x, 200x, 300x, 400x or 4,993x the bet. A minimum win of 20x is guaranteed: if the respins run out below that, 3 more respins are awarded. Special reels are used during the round.

Free Spins and Wild Collection

Three, four or five dragon scatters award 10, 15 or 20 free spins. During the round the wild can land on all reels, substitutes for every symbol except the scatter and coin money symbols, and collects the values of all fish on the screen. If wilds land without fish, fish money symbols can appear at random at the end of the spin.

Every wild is counted on a meter. Each 4th wild collected retriggers the feature with 10 more spins and raises the collection multiplier: 2x after the first retrigger, 3x after the second and 10x after the third. The new spins and multiplier take effect after the current batch ends. After the third retrigger the round cannot be extended further.

Bonus Buy Availability

The demo version used for this review shows no bonus buy button, and the rules screens do not describe one. Both bonus rounds must therefore be triggered naturally, which, together with the high volatility rating, means long stretches between features are normal.

RTP Versions: Check Before You Play

The demo’s rules screen states a theoretical RTP of 96.71% and a high volatility label, with bets from 0.10 to 250. Casinos may run lower RTP configurations that look identical, so the RTP line in the casino’s own game rules is the figure to rely on.

Worked Example: A Hold & Spin Round

In the demo round shown here, played at A$2, the middle reel filled with coins of A$6, A$10 and A$24 (3x, 5x and 12x), so the round opened at A$40, or 20x the bet. Further coins then landed on the outer reels, each resetting the respins to 3, and under the rules the values of the money symbols on screen were added to the round total after each respin. The round finished at A$192, or 96x the bet. A single 100x diamond on an outer reel would have added A$200 on its own.

Bankroll Tips for Floating Dragon

  • With high volatility and no bonus buy, budget for at least 300 spins per session.
  • Base game line wins are small; the two bonus rounds carry most of the return.
  • The Hold & Spin 20x guarantee limits the downside of that feature, not of the session.
  • Set loss and time limits before you start and use your casino’s deposit limit tools.
  • Each spin is independent; a long run without a bonus does not make one more likely.

Demo Play vs Real Money

The demo on this page uses the same maths as the real version. Since neither bonus can be bought, the demo is the practical way to measure how often Hold & Spin and free spins arrive at your stake level before committing real money.

For real money, choose a casino that shows the RTP in the game info, pays verified withdrawals on time and offers deposit and session limits. Our casino reviews compare these points.
