Online Baccarat Sites for Australians: Live Tables and Odds

Baccarat has three main bets and a fixed set of drawing rules, so the player’s only real decision is which bet to make. The Banker bet has a house edge of 1.06% after the standard 5% commission, Player 1.24%, and Tie at 8:1 an expensive 14.36%. Where you play matters mainly for which table formats the casino carries (standard, speed, squeeze, no-commission) and how its bonuses treat table games.

This page lists eight reviewed casinos whose data names Evolution, Ezugi or Pragmatic Play Live, the studios that run most live baccarat tables in Australian-facing lobbies. Cosmobet is the only one whose stored game-type list names baccarat explicitly.

Casino Notes

Cosmobet

Cosmobet lists baccarat among its game types and carries all three studios. Its welcome bonus is slots-only, so baccarat play should be done with cash. Withdrawals by card and bank take about two hours. Cosmobet review.

Casiny

Casiny carries Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live tables. With a bonus active, bets are capped at A$25, which limits baccarat stakes. Casiny review.

MrPunter

MrPunter pays VIP players 25% cashback on live casino losses. On a Banker bet with a 1.06% edge, that rebate offsets a large share of expected losses for regular players. MrPunter review.

RocketPlay

RocketPlay’s live tables come from Evolution, and its bonuses are non-sticky, so you can play cash first and decline the bonus. RocketPlay review.

BitStarz

BitStarz runs a weekly Table Wars tournament, one of the few promotions in our data built for table-game players. BitStarz review.

Bizzo Casino

Bizzo carries Evolution and Ezugi live games. The A$8 maximum bet with an active bonus makes the welcome offer impractical for baccarat. Bizzo Casino review.

National Casino

National Casino records 900+ live tables across three studios, the widest range of baccarat limits and formats in our data. National Casino review.

Golden Crown

Golden Crown carries Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live and allows withdrawals of up to A$15,000 per transaction, with caps rising with deposit history, which suits higher-stakes baccarat. Golden Crown review.

Banker1:1 less 5% commission (0.95:1)45.86%1.06%
Player1:144.62%1.24%
Tie8:19.52%14.36%
Tie (tables paying 9:1)9:19.52%4.84%

When a tie occurs, Banker and Player bets push. The numbers explain the standard advice: bet Banker or Player, avoid Tie. Our baccarat odds and house edge guide shows the calculation, and baccarat rules explains the drawing rules.

Bar chart of baccarat house edge per bet: Banker 1.06%, Player 1.24%, no-commission Banker about 1.46%, Tie at 9:1 4.84%, Tie at 8:1 14.36%

Table Formats

  • Standard (punto banco): dealer handles all cards; about one round a minute. See punto banco.
  • Speed baccarat: same rules with faster rounds, which raises hourly cost at the same stake. See speed baccarat.
  • Squeeze baccarat: cards revealed slowly for effect; slower rounds. See squeeze baccarat.
  • No-commission baccarat: Banker wins pay 1:1, except a Banker win with a total of six, which pays 1:2. That raises the Banker edge to about 1.46%.
  • Side bets: Player Pair, Banker Pair, Dragon Bonus and similar bets carry much higher edges than the main bets. See baccarat side bets.

Hourly Cost Comparison

At A$10 per hand on the Banker bet (1.06% edge):

FormatHands per hour (approx.)Expected loss per hour
Squeeze30–40A$3.20–A$4.20
Standard50–60A$5.30–A$6.40
Speed100+A$10.60+
Tie bet instead, standard pace50–60A$72–A$86

The last row shows the cost of the Tie bet: the same stake and pace at 14.36% costs more than ten times as much per hour.

How the Commission Works in Practice

A A$100 bet on each outcome at a standard commission table:

ResultBanker betPlayer betTie bet (8:1)
Banker wins+A$95 (A$100 less 5%)−A$100−A$100
Player wins−A$100+A$100−A$100
TiePush (stake returned)Push (stake returned)+A$800

On a no-commission table the Banker column changes: a Banker win pays A$100, except a win with a total of six, which pays A$50. Because six-point Banker wins happen in roughly 5% of hands, the saved commission does not make up for the reduced payout.

Baccarat Compared with Other Table Games

Game and betHouse edgeDecisions required
Blackjack, basic strategy~0.5%Many (hit, stand, double, split)
Baccarat, Banker1.06%One (which bet)
Baccarat, Player1.24%One
European roulette2.70%One

Baccarat suits players who want a low edge without learning a strategy chart. Blackjack is cheaper only when played with correct strategy.

Strategy Points

  1. Bet Banker by default; Player is a close second at 1.24%.
  2. Avoid Tie at 8:1. If a table pays 9:1, the edge falls to 4.84%, still more than four times Banker’s.
  3. Ignore trend scoreboards (“roads”). Each hand is independent of previous results; see the gambler’s fallacy.
  4. Play without a deposit bonus unless baccarat contributes; most casinos count it at 0–10%.
  5. Set a hand or time limit; speed formats move fast.

Legal Note

Real-money online baccarat is an online casino game that may not be offered to Australians under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001; the casinos above are offshore. See the baccarat guide and our Interactive Gambling Act overview.
