Tether (USDT) Casino Payments in Australia

Tether (USDT) is a stablecoin designed to hold a value of one US dollar. At casinos it solves the main problem with Bitcoin and Ethereum: your balance doesn’t rise or fall with the crypto market while you play. Of the casinos reviewed on BetsAuthority, 36 list USDT for deposits or withdrawals. The catch is that USDT exists on several blockchains at once, and choosing the wrong one is the most common way players lose a deposit.

Casinos That Accept USDT

The table lists the highest-rated reviewed casinos that include Tether in their payment terms, ordered by our rating. Our data records USDT acceptance, not which networks each cashier supports, so check the network list in the cashier before sending.

USDT Networks Used at Casinos

USDT on one network cannot be received on another. The token standard names below are what you will see in cashiers and on exchange withdrawal screens.

NetworkAddress looks likeTypical credit timeFee profile
Tron (TRC-20)Starts with “T”, 34 charactersAbout 1 to 5 minutesPaid in TRX or “energy”; usually a few A$ or less
Ethereum (ERC-20)Starts with “0x”, 42 charactersAbout 1 to 15 minutesGas fee in ETH; higher than a plain ETH transfer
BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20)Starts with “0x”Under a few minutesSmall fee in BNB
Solana (SPL)Base58 string, 32 to 44 charactersSecondsFractions of a cent in SOL
Polygon, Arbitrum, TON and othersVariesSeconds to minutesLow; supported by fewer casinos

TRC-20 and ERC-20 are the two networks casinos list most often. TRC-20 is the usual choice for small deposits because fees are lower. Note that ERC-20 and BEP-20 addresses look identical, which makes them easy to confuse. Tether stopped issuing USDT on legacy networks such as Omni, Kusama and Bitcoin Cash SLP in 2023 and on EOS and Algorand in 2024; don’t use those even if an old wallet still offers them.

Deposit Steps

  1. Buy USDT with A$ on an Australian exchange registered with AUSTRAC, or swap from another coin.
  2. In the casino cashier, choose USDT and then the network, for example “USDT (TRC-20)”. Copy the address for that network only.
  3. On the exchange, select USDT, paste the address and pick the same network. If the exchange doesn’t offer the casino’s network, stop and choose another network in the cashier.
  4. Check the network fee and the amount that will arrive. It must be at or above the casino minimum after the fee is deducted.
  5. Send, then wait for the casino’s confirmation count. On TRC-20 this is usually a few minutes.

TRC-20 Fees Explained

On Tron, token transfers consume “energy” and “bandwidth”. If your wallet has no staked energy, the network burns TRX to cover it. A USDT transfer to an address that has never held USDT uses roughly twice the energy of a transfer to an existing holder, so the first deposit to a fresh casino address can cost more. When you send from an exchange you pay the exchange’s flat USDT withdrawal fee instead, and the exchange covers the network cost. See the Tron (TRX) page for how energy works.

Common USDT Deposit Errors

  • ERC-20 address, BEP-20 network. Both start with “0x”. The exchange accepts the address on either network, and the casino only sees the one it monitors.
  • Below the minimum after fees. If the cashier minimum is 20 USDT and the exchange deducts a 1 USDT fee from a 20 USDT withdrawal, 19 USDT arrives and may not be credited.
  • Sending USDC instead of USDT. They are different tokens. Some casinos list USDC separately; a USDC transfer to a USDT address is not credited automatically.
  • No TRX for fees in a self-custody Tron wallet. A personal TRC-20 wallet needs TRX (or staked energy) to send USDT. With a zero TRX balance the transfer fails.
  • Old saved address. Casinos that issue a new address per deposit may not credit payments to an expired one.

If a deposit is missing after an hour, send support the transaction hash (TXID), the network and the amount. The hash lets them locate the payment on a block explorer.

What “Stable” Means for Australians

  • It tracks the US dollar, not the Australian dollar. A US$100 balance is worth more or fewer A$ as the AUD/USD rate moves, typically by a few per cent over a month.
  • Conversion costs apply twice. You pay a spread when buying USDT with A$ and again when selling a payout back to A$.
  • Issuer risk. USDT is issued by Tether, a private company. It can freeze USDT held at specific addresses, usually on law-enforcement request. This rarely affects ordinary players but is a feature Bitcoin doesn’t have.
  • Casino balance currency. Some casinos keep a USDT balance; others convert to USD or AUD on arrival and convert back on withdrawal, sometimes at their own rate.

Withdrawing USDT

Most casinos that accept USDT also pay out in it. Before your first request, complete identity checks (see KYC verification). Give an address on the network you intend to receive on, and confirm your exchange supports deposits on that network. Stated crypto processing times at reviewed casinos range from under an hour (BitStarz target, Wild Tornado) to 48 hours (HellSpin). Some casinos deduct the network fee from the payout. The crypto withdrawal guide covers each step.

Tax

Stablecoins are crypto assets for tax purposes. The ATO treats selling, swapping or spending crypto as a CGT event. Because USDT moves with the USD rather than the A$, small capital gains or losses can arise even on a stablecoin. Recreational gambling winnings are generally not taxed; our gambling tax guide explains the difference.

Frequently Asked Questions

Use a network listed in the casino cashier that your exchange also supports. TRC-20 (Tron) and ERC-20 (Ethereum) are the most common; TRC-20 usually costs less to send.

The casino won’t see the deposit on the network it monitors. Recovery is at the casino’s discretion and often not possible. ERC-20 and BEP-20 addresses look identical, so check the network name, not just the address.

Not fully. USDT tracks the US dollar, so its value in A$ moves with the AUD/USD exchange rate, and you pay a conversion spread when buying and selling.

TRC-20 deposits usually credit in about 1 to 5 minutes, ERC-20 in about 1 to 15 minutes and Solana in seconds, depending on the casino’s confirmation requirements.

Yes. The ATO treats crypto assets, including stablecoins, as CGT assets, so selling, swapping or spending USDT is a disposal. Gains are usually small because the value tracks the US dollar.
