iSoftBet Slots: Games, RTPs and Ownership

iSoftBet was founded in 2010 and became known for Megaways and Hold and Win slots and for its GAP game aggregation platform. IGT bought the studio for €160 million in a deal completed in July 2022. The standalone isoftbet.com site is no longer online, and its games are now distributed as part of IGT’s digital content. RTPs of its main titles cluster around 96%.
iSoftBet at a glance
iSoftBet started in 2010 as a developer and content aggregator with bases in London and Malta. It built two products. One was a slot catalogue that slot databases now put at roughly 345 games, with the company once claiming over 400. The other was GAP (Game Aggregation Platform), which let operators connect hundreds of third-party games through one integration. In April 2022, International Game Technology (IGT) agreed to buy iSoftBet for about €160 million in cash, and the deal completed in early July 2022. IGT said the purchase took its PlayDigital library to about 225 proprietary games and added GAP and iSoftBet’s promotional tools.
Since then, iSoftBet has been absorbed into IGT. The isoftbet.com website no longer resolves as of late 2026, and newer releases are published under IGT branding. Casinos still label older titles as iSoftBet, which is why this page exists.

Signature mechanics
- Megaways. iSoftBet licensed Big Time Gaming’s Megaways engine for a run of titles: Majestic Megaways and Dragon Match Megaways (2020), Aztec Gold Megaways, Fu Fortunes Megaways, Queen of Wonderland Megaways and Cleopatra Megaways (2023). The reel heights change every spin, giving up to 117,649 ways. See our Megaways guide.
- Hold and Win. Coin-collect respin rounds with fixed jackpot tiers, for example in Republic Empire (2024). See how Hold and Win works.
- Branded and licensed themes from the pre-IGT era, plus cascading wins and free spins with multipliers.
RTP and volatility
The default RTPs of iSoftBet’s main titles sit close to 96%. Gold Digger is listed at 96.00%, Aztec Gold Megaways at 95.99%, Queen of Wonderland Megaways and Fu Fortunes Megaways at 96.03%, and Republic Empire at 95.98%. The Megaways titles are high volatility, with listed maximum wins of 19,200x to 50,000x. That ceiling comes with long stretches of small or no wins. Casinos can run alternative RTP versions, so confirm the figure in the game’s info screen using our RTP check guide.

What the IGT takeover means for players
For players, the change is mostly about labels. Existing iSoftBet games keep running at casinos that integrated them, either directly or through GAP. New content comes out under IGT’s digital brand, and some offshore casinos that listed iSoftBet now show fewer titles. IGT focuses on regulated markets such as the UK, the EU and North America. Games supplied that way are less likely to be offered to Australian accounts, because the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 prohibits online casino services to Australians. Read how offshore casinos work for Australians for the legal background.
How iSoftBet compares
| Provider | Megaways | Hold and Win | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| iSoftBet | Yes, licensed from Big Time Gaming (2020–2023 titles) | Yes (Republic Empire, 2024) | Part of IGT since July 2022 |
| Big Time Gaming | Inventor of the mechanic | Limited | Owned by Evolution |
| Belatra | No | Yes | Independent |
iSoftBet’s Megaways titles were licensed versions of Big Time Gaming’s engine, with the same 117,649-ways maximum and cascading wins. They differ from the originals mainly in theme and in how free-spin multipliers build. Players comparing them should look at the free-spin multiplier rules and the maximum win in the paytable rather than the headline number of ways.
What happened to GAP
GAP, the Game Aggregation Platform, connected operators to hundreds of third-party games through one API, with tournament and free-round tools on top. With the acquisition, IGT gained both the content and this distribution layer. Casinos that took third-party games through GAP were not affected by the ownership change; the studio games they received are certified by the studios themselves.
Can Australians play iSoftBet demos?
Demo availability from Australia is patchy. The supplier’s own demo pages are offline, and IGT-hosted demos are generally restricted to regulated markets. Some offshore lobbies still offer older iSoftBet titles in demo mode. If a game does not load from an Australian IP address, it is geo-restricted. See our demo play guide.
