Dream Catcher
Dream Catcher is Evolution’s original live money wheel, launched in 2017 and the template for later game shows such as Crazy Time. It has no bonus games: you bet on a number, the presenter spins a 54-segment wheel, and if it stops on your number you are paid that number to 1. Two multiplier segments make the wheel spin again with increased payouts. Because the rules are this simple, the exact return of every bet can be calculated from the wheel layout.
The Wheel Layout
| Segment | Number on wheel | Probability per spin | Pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 23 | 42.59% | 1 to 1 |
| 2 | 15 | 27.78% | 2 to 1 |
| 5 | 7 | 12.96% | 5 to 1 |
| 10 | 4 | 7.41% | 10 to 1 |
| 20 | 2 | 3.70% | 20 to 1 |
| 40 | 1 | 1.85% | 40 to 1 |
| 2x multiplier | 1 | 1.85% | Re-spin, payouts x2 |
| 7x multiplier | 1 | 1.85% | Re-spin, payouts x7 |

How Multipliers Work
When the wheel stops on 2x or 7x, no bets are settled. All bets stay in place and the wheel is spun again. Whatever number wins on the next spin is paid at its normal odds times the multiplier. If another multiplier lands, the multipliers combine: 2x then 7x gives 14x on the next winning number.
Example: A$5 on 10. The wheel lands on 7x, then on 10. The bet pays 10 to 1 × 7 = 70 to 1: A$350 profit plus the A$5 stake. A sequence of 7x, 2x, 10 would pay 140 to 1 (A$700).
On average, multipliers add about 15.6% to the value of a win (an average multiplier of 52/45, or about 1.156).
Exact RTP for Each Bet
The return on a number bet depends on how often it lands and its payout, plus the extra value from multipliers. Because both multiplier segments cause a re-spin, the long-run chance that a given number is the final winning result is its share of the 52 non-multiplier segments. Combining that with the average multiplier gives:
RTP = (segments ÷ 52) + (segments × payout ÷ 45)
| Bet | Segments | Final win probability | RTP | House edge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 23 | 44.23% | 95.34% | 4.66% |
| 2 | 15 | 28.85% | 95.51% | 4.49% |
| 5 | 7 | 13.46% | 91.24% | 8.76% |
| 10 | 4 | 7.69% | 96.58% | 3.42% |
| 20 | 2 | 3.85% | 92.74% | 7.26% |
| 40 | 1 | 1.92% | 90.81% | 9.19% |
These figures assume the standard layout and payouts above, with no payout cap reached. The highest return is on 10 (96.58%), which matches the 96.58% commonly listed as the game’s RTP. The lowest is on 40 (90.81%), more than five times the house edge of the 10.
Worked check for 10: 4 ÷ 52 = 0.0769 (stake returned on wins), plus 4 × 10 ÷ 45 = 0.8889 (winnings including multipliers). Total 0.9658, or 96.58%.
What the Numbers Mean
- Bet on 10 for the lowest house edge. It wins about once every 13 spins, so expect long gaps between wins.
- Avoid 5 and 40 if your aim is to lose less per spin; they have the highest edges on the wheel.
- 1 and 2 are lower-variance options with mid-range edges (4.49% to 4.66%).
- Covering all six numbers wins on almost every spin (except multipliers, which re-spin), but the expected loss is the sum of the six edges. With A$1 on each, that is about A$0.38 per spin.
Expected cost per 100 spins
| Strategy | Stake per spin | Expected loss per 100 spins |
|---|---|---|
| A$5 on 10 only | A$5 | About A$17 |
| A$5 on 1 only | A$5 | About A$23 |
| A$5 on 40 only | A$5 | About A$46 |
| A$1 on each number | A$6 | About A$38 |
(Multiplier re-spins do not count as separate rounds in these estimates.)
Payout Limits and Variance
Multiplier chains can make individual wins large, but a maximum payout per round applies, set by Evolution and by the casino. If a bet would exceed the cap, it is paid at the cap. Read the maximum payout in the game rules before placing large bets on 20 or 40.
Variance is lowest on 1 (wins 44% of final results) and highest on 40 (about 1 in 52). Results over a few dozen spins can differ greatly from the RTP table.

Practical Notes
- Check the wheel layout and payouts in the help screen; Evolution also offers First Person Dream Catcher (an RNG version), which may have different settings.
- Live wheel shows usually count little or nothing towards wagering requirements.
- Past-results panels show history only; each spin is independent. Read about the gambler’s fallacy.
Dream Catcher is available at casinos with Evolution live games, such as Cosmobet and MrPunter. Practical tips on live tables are in our live dealer tips, and the full list of shows is in the live casino guide.
