Online Roulette Sites for Australians: Tables and Odds Compared

At roulette, the choice of wheel decides the house edge, and that choice is available at almost every casino. A single-zero European wheel has a 2.70% edge, a double-zero American wheel 5.26%, and a French table with La Partage halves the edge on even-money bets to 1.35%. Picking a casino therefore matters mainly for which tables it carries, its limits and its promotions for live play.

This page lists eight reviewed casinos with live roulette studios in their data: each names Evolution, and several add Ezugi or Pragmatic Play Live, the studios behind most live roulette tables in Australian-facing lobbies. Cosmobet is the only one whose stored game-type list names roulette explicitly.

The edge is the same for almost every bet on a given wheel, so no betting pattern changes it. Our European vs American roulette and La Partage and En Prison guides explain the maths, and odds and payouts lists every bet.

Multiplier tables such as Lightning Roulette pay less than 35:1 on straight-up numbers that are not struck (29:1 at Evolution’s Lightning Roulette), in exchange for occasional multipliers. See Lightning Roulette.

Live vs RNG Roulette

Live rouletteRNG (digital) roulette
Result sourcePhysical wheel and ball, filmedRandom number generator
Spins per hourRoughly 40–60Several hundred possible
Typical minimum betHigher, often from about A$0.50–A$1Lower, often A$0.10
Expected loss per hour at the same stakeLower, because fewer spinsHigher, because more spins
Bonus contributionUsually 0–10%Often 0–10%, sometimes higher

Speed matters more than it looks. At A$5 per spin on a European wheel, 50 live spins an hour carry an expected loss of about A$6.75; 300 RNG spins at the same stake carry about A$40.50. Same edge, six times the hourly cost. If you play RNG roulette, a slower pace or a lower stake keeps the hourly cost in line. See time management.

Betting Systems Do Not Change the Edge

Progressions such as the Martingale (doubling after each loss) change how results are distributed, not the expected loss. With a A$5 base bet, seven straight losses on red/black require a A$640 eighth bet, and table maximums stop the progression. Our Martingale guide and roulette strategies cover the numbers.

Practical Checklist

  1. Choose single-zero tables: French with La Partage for even-money bets, otherwise European.
  2. Check table minimums and maximums in the rules panel.
  3. Play without a deposit bonus unless roulette is listed as contributing; most casinos count it at 0–10%.
  4. Set a loss limit for the session before the first spin.
  5. Read live casino tips for connection and table-selection advice.

Online roulette for real money is prohibited from being offered to Australians under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001; the casinos above are offshore. Read the roulette guide and our legal overview.
